Free Produce Distribution For Families In Lufkin, Texas
The East Texas Food Bank Mobile Pantry makes its way to Lufkin again with its drive-thru produce distribution. It will be held outside the George H. Henderson Expo Center at 1200 Ellen Trout Drive on Loop 287 in Lufkin.
Stop in Tuesday, July 26th, 2022 from 10 am to 12 pm to pick up your fresh produce, while supplies last. The distribution is open to the public.
There is no paperwork or ID required to receive the food items. This food is freely given to anyone that shows up in need.
Carpool With Other Families
Gas prices are on the way down, but it would still be beneficial to carpool with another family to save money on gas. A maximum of four households can be served per vehicle.
You can pick up food for a friend or family member with a note. You must have their signature, printed name, and a statement from them that they are authorizing you to pick up their food.
Walk-ups are not accepted, as this is a drive-thru-only event. If you do need to walk up, you can go to The Deep East Texas Resource Center at 105 Lofton Street in North Lufkin.
They are open from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm Tuesday through Friday and from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday.
The East Texas Food Pantry Offers Assistance
This food program is just a small part of all the big things that the East Texas Food Bank is doing in East Texas. They also provide these distributions in Tyler, Longview, Quitman, and Gladewater.
If you have friends in need located in these other areas, let them know that their events come on a regular schedule. The Lufkin event is always the last Tuesday of the month.
